The training methods used in the school’s Ballet curriculum are from the established traditions handed down by the great schools of the French, Italian, Russian and English styles of Ballet. All of which have been greatly influenced by the teachings of the great maestro “Enrico Cecchetti”, who devised a system of required daily exercises designed for mastering balance, sense of line, and ballon . The great dancers of the twentieth and twenty first century, from Anna Pavlova to Karen Kain have been methodically trained and influenced by the teachings of Cecchetti.
Serious students may work toward achieving the internationally recognized Cecchetti Ballet Grade Certificates advancing on to the Professional Majors, eventually leading to a Fellowship in the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance, Cecchetti Society Branch.
Classical Ballet training provides the essential basics of body centering, control, balance, strength and posture required for all styles of dancing.
