A demanding dance form combining acrobatic tricks with various styles of dance. It expands one’s range of physical movement and control while learning new skills that will enhance the overall performance. (Recommended age for beginning Acro, 6-10 yrs.). All candidates for Acro must be attending at least one other dance class such as ballet or jazz,( ideally on a separate day from the Acro class).
Why Tumbling?
The Dance Place is pleased to announce a new Tumbling program by award-winning gymnast ‘Carmen Boyce’
Today’s dancers are required to extend the use of their bodies increasing their range of movement, especially in Jazz, Acrobatic and Hip Hop dancing. Developing tumbling skills is essential for all dance students working at or above the Elementary 2 level. Tumbling is recommended as an enrichment, not a replacement for dance training. Ideal for those students seeking improvement in learning and incorporating gymnastic tricks, such as aerials, forward & backward hand springs and flips, into their dancing.
